Systems Engineering, MBSE & SAFe Workshop | Training
Until recently Agile principles and practices have not included System Engineering and, specifically, MBSE. Just think about it, Agile advocates small cross-functional teams that define, design, implement, and test software. Where do systems and Systems Engineers fit it?
Well, it was not until we attempted to build larger systems using agile techniques, that we realized we needed to scale up these techniques and incorporate system engineering processes. Ideas from Lean have helped. As well multiple frameworks have come into the limelight for scaling agile. The one being used most is the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
And we are glad to hear that Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) is making a resurgence.
MBSE has been conceptually included SAFe, and there is a role for System Engineers. In this presentation we will talk about several techniques that fill in the details.
This workshop introduces a particular way to use MBSE in the context of a Lean/agile framework. We iteratively build a model of the system to compose the Requirements Specification and Test Framework and identify the Features to be built in successive Planning Increments (PIs). That is, it in a nutshell.
The model is built in a set of workshops prior to and during each Product Increment.
This course will be taught by a 321 Gang Lean-Agile Systems Engineering Consultant who is also a SAFe Program Consultant.
