IBM HTTP Server acting as Reverse Proxy for ELM | Packaged Service

IBM ELM best practices and Golden Topologies recommend deploying IBM HTTP Server (IHS) as a reverse proxy between ELM application servers and ELM clients. This architecture improves security, simplifies access, and enhances manageability across the ELM environment.

This service designs and implements all the detailed, manual, and error-prone aspects of deploying an IHS reverse proxy on Linux or Windows—whether as part of a new ELM deployment or an enhancement to an existing topology.

• Hiding hostnames and port complexities from end users

• Configuring HTTPS using CA-signed or self-signed certificates

• Creating and configuring the IHS keystore, plugin keystore, and required Liberty keystores
