ELM Solution TLS 1.2/1.3, NIST SP 800-131, TLS EMS Security Upgrades | Packaged Service

Out-of-the-box, IBM ELM applications and clients use outdated HTTPS encryption protocols, such as TLS 1.0, which no longer meet modern security standards.

321Gang enhances ELM security by modernizing encryption protocols to TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3. If required, we can also configure your environment to comply with NIST SP 800-131, depending on your security and compliance needs.

Once upgraded, your ELM Servers and Clients will use a minimum of TLS 1.2 encryption, ensuring secure communication across your ELM infrastructure.

Applicable ELM Servers include:

  • Liberty WebApp Servers

  • IBM HTTP Server (acting as a reverse proxy for ELM)

  • Repository tools

  • ClearCase/ClearQuest connectors

Applicable ELM Clients include:

  • Web browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Safari)

  • RTC Clients (Eclipse Client, SCM CLI, Windows Explorer Shell)

  • Jazz Build Engine

For organizations that require encrypted traffic between ELM WebApp Servers and database servers (Oracle, SQL Server, IBM DB2), 321Gang ELM SMEs collaborate with your database and IT teams to enable TLS 1.2/1.3 and secure communications, including authentication systems like LDAP.

Note: All upgrades are staged in an isolated, non-production environment prior to deployment in production to ensure safety and reliability.
