ELM SQL Server database migration to DB2 or Oracle | Packaged Service

IBM has discontinued support for Microsoft SQL Server databases with the Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) solution, requiring customers to migrate to Oracle or IBM DB2. This migration is complex, as there is no direct, vendor-supported database conversion path and partial database migrations are not supported.

321Gang provides a structured, IBM-aligned migration service to safely transition ELM environments from SQL Server to Oracle or DB2. We leverage IBM-provided utilities to export supported ELM databases into TAR archives and import them into the target database platform, ensuring data integrity and platform compliance.

For ELM components without IBM-supported migration utilities—such as Data Warehouse, LQE, and LDX—321Gang creates new, empty target databases and properly initializes them to align with IBM ELM requirements. This approach ensures a clean, supported environment ready for repopulation and continued operation.

Our service minimizes risk, ensures vendor compliance, and delivers a fully migrated and validated ELM database environment aligned with IBM support policies.
